    Interview with Black JES
So many people I know get a recording program for a computer and then say “I am a rapper.” Ferrin Green isn’t that person. A few months ago he got me into a show he was doing in Times Square, NY where his crew, All In Records, shut it down! This interview is a bit late because I really wanted to do it in person so I decided to shoot him some questions over Facebook:
1) Who are you in 16 words?I am one of the most talented border-line genius young artist of the next decade.2) What album made you want to get into the industry? What album? That’s a good question…umm i would probably have to say The Life and Times of Sean Carter Volume Two… it was just different, it was innovative and real ground breaking.3) Everyone is saying “I’m the best rapper,” How do you feel about this term and who to do think is the best? or is the best you?I feel the term is loosely used a lot. I feel the current best in the not as pound for pound talent but the face of the industry is T.I. a lot of people would argue the point and say Lil Wayne but i just say if you compare the features they get called to do and business moves they make i gotta say T.I. … I mean talent wise i am one of the better artist but its a long while before i can b considered as the face of the industry.4) If you had to sell yourself what 3 songs of yours would you pick?- 1 Chic- 2 Ain’t a Damn thing Change- 3 Paid In FullWhy track one?Was the my first big record and that all people immediately loved Why track two?Was a track off of my second LP “Overdraft” that we at All In Records didn’t realize it was as hot as is was… when we broke the record and people heard it they took it and that was unexpectedWhy track three? Its a new track off the album i’m recording now its gonna be the second single…simply put i am yet to have a record like this its crazy the dj’s are loving it and we are testing it out in a couple of clubs rite now5) What would you say to a teen looking to get into hip hop?If you truly have the talent and passion to do it go for it….don’t pipe dream and be prepared to be an excellent business man and read everything before you ink anything6) What music video would you remake? Just the video, not the song!Damn there are so many to say Drizzy dropped the ball with that Breast i ever had lol…and Lloyd Banks did too with the I’m So Fly that video should have been crazy that song was ridiculous…But i would have to say Kanye West Flashing Lights i personally feel the videos he shot for 808’s are the best set of videos for any album in history and there are like six of them…But Flashing lights was felt to be the best song of Graduation which was so hot it got played on air even though it wasn’t a single and it was eventually shot Ijust felt it should have been epic.7) What are your thoughts on BET, MTV, and Fuse?BET has gotten better…i mean there was a real point about a year and a half ago that i was yo this is ignorant and not look good for the black community. MTV they own 10 0 clock and after people say they don’t show enough videos but they have six other channels dedicated to videos so I think they are doing pretty well. Fuse is cool i don’t know how long they are gonna be around, but they need better promotion and marketing and need to appeal to the urban market a little more I catch hip hop and r&b videos only at like 3am and that’s a problem8) W.A.L.E. or DrakeWALE i heard them both around the same time ago about three years ago Drake with Replacement Girl and Wale with his entire first mixtape… My choice is just because in 2008 The Mixtape About Nothing was the equivalent of what So Far Gone was to 09 but i personally feel The Mixtape About Nothing is better9) Who is the sexiest Music Video Vixen?Wow that’s a tough one.. i think the current set are like no names.. I mean in the sense back a few years ago it was like damn… Summer Walker Mellysa Ford Esther Baxtor…but rite now the only two who i know and see a lot are Bria Myles and Angel Lola Luv 10) Is Lil’ Wayne overrated?Possibly his hottest records are around the time of The Carter I & II and all the mixtapes between…or maybe he is just now getting what he deserves because his first two albums were very hot n the third was ok so maybe the world is just now catching up anyway you see it I’m proud of the moves he has made11) How do you feel about Auto-tune? Would you accept the chance to feature on a T-Pain track?I feel it ain’t for everyone Drake uses it well Snoop did it great but it wasn’t a full auto tune it was more of what zapp did… kanye was cool too..but that’s like it… its T-pain’s thing i feel he should be really the only one using it… and yea i would not for the pop reason but because he writes and produces all his music and he knows music and shows many “genius” qualities as Kanye said12) What non-hip-hop song is your guilty pleasure?I don’t just listen to hip hop I own Cold Play, Chester French, Maroon 5, Justice albums so I just like music in general 13) A news camera turns to you… What would you yell out?Buy my album!!…Na i would probably stay poised I’m not really that guy i more calm and collected…the quiet cool 14) When was the last year Diddy, as an Artist, as relevant?I think Diddy is always relevant, we all know he’s not the greatest rapper nor does he write his material but neither does Dr.Dre but Diddy is a hell of an entertainer and he always has a record out the people love 15) Anything you would like to say?Taiwan Brown is like the most accomplished person in his age bracket i met in awhile***16) What are your links? http://myspace.com/blackjesallinhttp://twitter.com/jesdakinghttp://reverbnation.com/blackjeshttp://betarecords.com/black.jeshttp://youtube.com/theairnetworkhttp://facebook.com/pages/Black-Jes/85295793481http://datpiff.com/profile/Jesdaking

A few months ago he got me into a show he was doing in Times Square, NY where his crew, All In Records, shut it down! This interview is a bit late because I really wanted to do it in person so I decided to shoot him some questions over Facebook:

    1) Who are you in 16 words?

I am one of the most talented border-line genius young artist of the next decade.

    2) What album made you want to get into the industry?

    3) Everyone is saying “I’m the best rapper,” How do you feel about this term and who to do think is the best? or is the best you?

I feel the term is loosely used a lot. I feel the current best in the not as pound for pound talent but the face of the industry is T.I. a lot of people would argue the point and say Lil Wayne but i just say if you compare the features they get called to do and business moves they make i gotta say T.I. … I mean talent wise i am one of the better artist but its a long while before i can b considered as the face of the industry.

    4) If you had to sell yourself what 3 songs of yours would you pick?

    - 1 Chic

    - 2 Ain’t a Damn thing Change

    - 3 Paid In Full

    Why track one?

Was the my first big record and that all people immediately loved

    Why track two?

Was a track off of my second LP “Overdraft” that we at All In Records didn’t realize it was as hot as is was… when we broke the record and people heard it they took it and that was unexpected

    Why track three?

Its a new track off the album i’m recording now its gonna be the second single…simply put i am yet to have a record like this its crazy the dj’s are loving it and we are testing it out in a couple of clubs rite now

    5) What would you say to a teen looking to get into hip hop?

If you truly have the talent and passion to do it go for it….don’t pipe dream and be prepared to be an excellent business man and read everything before you ink anything
