mzreport:

A few minutes ago I read a thoughtless piece of ‘“journalism” on The Huffington Post titled “Two Black Role Models Done In By Hubris”. I mean, the title alone made me sick. Just what I need, I thought, another uppity negro story written by an ancient white women who believes she knows something about black people because she’s a liberal feminist. Speaking of uppity.

I read it anyways because it was passed along to me by a friend who asked for my opinion. At first I was speechless. Besides being drenched in unfortunate and obvious deep seeded racism, racial ignorance and white privilege there was one thing that truly bothered me. That is, the comparison. If there is one thing a Black person can be sure of, it is that you will continually be compared to every other Black person until the day you die. We see this happen, overwhelming, when they’ve done something wrong and by wrong I mean something white people don’t approve of.

In the case of Tiger Woods, he was white until these “transgressions” occurred. Right? An extremely wealthy, talented and successful GOLFER. With a beautiful, white, wife. A true family man. A confident man. A good man. Then the transgressions and suddenly he’s arrogant, a homewreker (with no concern to any domestic violence that took place that night) and instead of being a good man he’s now a Black man. As if the two are mutually exclusive.

See the problem Ms. Warren (the author of this horrific article) is that we don’t need you to compare us. If you have a problem with people cheating then please, attack Tiger. Please though don’t leave out the other 70% of marriages that have infidelity.

All Black men arrogant just like all Black women are angry, right? Must be. Please leave the cultural criticism to those of us who have an unconditional love for our people and next time you want to criticize the President or Tiger Woods, please do so for a reason other than race.

If the President hasn’t moved fast enough or done enough, I have to ask what it is that your doing to help him? If you’re so concenred then please by all means tells us what we can do. TELL US. I really want to know what it is that you can offer to make things move faster, to make things better. If you honestly believed while voting for Obama that he would be able to change the politics and problems of this entire country over night then I pity your soul. Then again, I already do.
