My Trilogy Meter
I know other movie geeks are going to have disagreements and that’s fine. And yes, I know some of these movies went more than 3 sequels, but none were ever meant to.These are rated purely on my enjoyment level on each film and nothing else. Frankly I’m surprised by how many sequels were better than the original. And I’m not surprised that the 3rd movie is never the best.
Okay, if we’re going on pure enjoyment, here, and not any sort of credibility, then can we just admit that Superman III is hilarious and awesome to watch? C’mon, Robert Vaughn? Richard Pryor? The Atari game they use to fire missles at Superman? Superman FREEZING A LAKE AND DROPPING IT ON A BURNING BUILDING INSTEAD OF JUST USING FREEZE BREATH ON THE FIRE?
Superman III is the Robocop 2 of Superman movies. It is this ridiculous, over the top, what-in-god’s-name-have-we-wrought sort of film that never should’ve made it to release, but is unbelievably awesome because it did.
