So I still have not gotten an email from a casting call… I start writing another one because I know that they are getting truck loads from students, actors, and robots (spam) lol.

So right before I hit send I decide to try and call to check the status. This time the Casting Director picks up! She let me know she seen all THREE of the emails I have sent in and that they are going through 800 submissions right now. Also that TWO weeks left in the casting.

I am making this post to let me and the other people who wanted to get into to entertainment to be calm.

I hope that they see my heart was in the right place.

Thank God I didn’t send another email… I was really about to click send!

I am also going to scratch the idea of making another video… They obviously know who I am. I will just keep practicing and praying they call me back.

If not, I will learn from this.

I just applied to be an mtvU VJ.

A couple of months ago a friend of mine working for MTV sent me an open casting call for the short lived reality show Bromance. I applied and got an immediate response from casting, but due to prior engagements I was unable to go to the physical interview. Since the casting directors have remained in touch with me regarding their casting sessions and I recently got an email about becoming a VJ for mtvU.

So I applied. In case you care, this was my letter to casting:

How’s it going? My name is Jonothon Mitchell and word on the street is you guys are looking for college kids who wanna be VJs. A little about me? I’m 22 living in Orlando FL currently in school with a major in Creative Writing and a minor in public speaking. I’m an avid music fan whose musical taste which includes just about everything (even country!) If you wanted to check out my awesome public speaking skills I have attached the link for a video from a speech I did a couple of semesters ago.The topic? Persuade the class to have sex with me. You should totally consider me because people love me. When polled the general population says their favorite things about me are, in no particular order, my shoes, my haircut, and the way I dress. If that (and my A+ speech about sex) isn’t reason enough for you, I don’t know what is.
